These Papuan native people became known for their fierce appearance, tribal warfare and cannibalism. They were, and in areas still are, primitive people with little or no contact with the outside world and the foreign occupants hesitated to enter the land of the Papuans. The story describes the adventures of two young men of German heritage born in Papua and follo them from 1914 through 1944. The two become involved with World War One and World War Two at a time difficult for Germans. Their secret lives was that of living with Papua cannibals, head hunters and the quest for New Guinea gold.
