Ma non tutto fila per il verso giusto. La resistenza georgiana si è arroccata sui monti del Caucaso, minacciando i collegamenti tra le due nazioni. Come se non bastasse uno dei kaiju più pericolosi, Garuda, ha fatto la sua tana sul monte Elbrus, diffondendo nell'intera regione l'infezione micotica di cui è portatore.
Mosca non può temporeggiare.
Il presidente invia un corpo di spedizione, col compito di eliminare gli insorti e di ripristinare i collegamenti via terra tra Russia e Georgia.
La fanteria e i carristi riescono ad avere la meglio sui ribelli del Caucaso, ma non hanno fatto i conti col proliferare degli ectoparassiti generati dai rifiuti organici di Garuda, i Suparna.
Caduti in agguato, i russi vengono dispersi e decimati.
Il T-90 del tenente Kakalin si trova isolato dal resto della colonna e minacciato dai voraci Suparna. Quando tutto sembra perduto, una creatura misteriosa salva l'equipaggio da morte certa. Si tratta di una tigre blu lunga quasi cinque metri, non appartenente ad alcuna specie animale nota agli zoologi.
Solo seguendo la tigre, Kakalin e i suoi due compagni possono sperare di uscire vivi dalla cengia in cui sono precipitati.
Ma perché il superbo felino sembra aiutarli?
E, soprattutto, si tratta davvero di un alleato, o le sue motivazioni nascondono una sorte peggiore di quella che i russi farebbero, cadendo tra le grinfie dei Suparna?
