Descirption: Escape the Grip of Drama and Take Control of Your Life
The Power of TED (The Empowerment Dynamic) is a fable on self-leadership, because how you lead your own life has everything to do with how you lead in other areas. It is a tool for both individuals and organizations who want to create more effective communication and relationships. Learning how to transform everyday drama and opt for more growth-oriented solutions, is the priceless gift it teaches.
As you walk with David, the main character, he shares how he is feeling victimized by life. Through serendipity he meets some wise guides, Ted and Sophia, who show David how he can move from feeling like a Victim to being a Creator of his own life.
The Power of TED offers a powerful alternative to the Karpman Drama Triangle with its roles of Victim, Persecutor, and Rescuer. The Empowerment Dynamic (TED) provides the antidote roles of Creator, Challenger and Coach and a more positive approach to life s challenges.
The teaching story provides a guide for learning and growing through the challenges we all face in our lives. Its message resonates with everyone who, at some time in their lives, feel victimized by their situation.
Having helped thousands of people and scores of organizations over the past decade, The Power of TED (*The Empowerment Dynamic) is being published in this 10th Anniversary Edition to convey a very timely message of hope that all of life, whether at home or work, can be transformed to create satisfying and fulfilling relationships.
Its message is needed now more than ever.
The 10th Anniversary Edition retains the powerful leadership story and adds three new sections:

A new Foreword by Lisa Lahey, Ed D, Harvard Graduate college of Education
New Study Questions for the Journey
A new Preface by the Author

...really smart and helpful information about...stronger, saner, and healthier ways of behaving. Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love
The Power of TED is an engaging story that will help you escape from the traps of victimhood and enablement! Stephen M. R. Covey, author of The Speed of Trust and co-founder of FranklinCovey s Trust Practice
Victimhood has become, in our time, a badge, an identity, a game, an excuse for laziness, frivolous law suits, and clever domination of others. I have always taught that Jesus did the victim thing right: He neither played the victim nor created victims of others. I think David Emerald is teaching our world the same wisdom in his Empowerment Dynamic. Fr. Richard Rohr, O.F.M., author of Immortal Diamond: The Search for Our True Self
It s no exaggeration to say that our world would be a better place if everyone read it. Lisa Lahey, Harvard Graduate college of Education; co-author, Immunity to Change, and An Everyone Culture
The Empowerment Triangle is a highly original and effective escape from the Drama Triangle. Stephen Karpman, M.D., originator of the Karpman Drama Triangle
When practical advice meets profound, yet simple, explanations for human behavior, we can learn, change, and grow. Annie McKee; co-author Becoming a Resonant Leader, Resonant Leadership, and Primal Leadership
Reading TED is like having a private session with a gifted spiritual teacher and coach: as you make this delightful journey, you awaken to powerful new possibilities. Jennifer Louden, author of Comfort Secrets of Busy Women and the Comfort Book series
This powerful little book points the way toward a hugely fulfilling life of empowering relationships at work, at home, in the whole of your life. Gay Hendricks, Ph.D. and Kathlyn Hendricks, Ph.D., authors of Conscious Loving

The Scandal of Money - Why Wall Street Recovers but the Economy Never Does
Type : epub |
Size : 1.08 MB |
English |

Descirption: Why do conservatives have such a hard time winning the economic debate in the court of public opinion? Simple, George Gilder says: conservatives misunderstand economics almost as badly as liberals do. Republicans have been running on tax cut proposals since the era of Harding and Coolidge without seriously addressing the key problems of a global economy in decline. Enough is enough. Gilder, author of New York Times bestseller Wealth and Poverty, proposes a completely new framework for understanding economic growth that will replace failed 20th century conservative economics and turn the economic debate-and the country-around.

What Have We Done - The Moral Injury of Our Longest Wars
Type : epub |
Size : 2.38 MB |
English |

Descirption: From Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Wood, a battlefield view of moral injury, the signature wound of America's 21st century wars.
Most Americans are now familiar with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and its prevalence among troops. In this groundbreaking new book, David Wood examines the far more pervasive yet less understood experience of those we send to war: moral injury, the violation of our fundamental values of right and wrong that so often occurs in the impossible moral dilemmas of modern conflict. Featuring portraits of combat veterans and leading mental health researchers, along with Wood's personal observations of war and the young Americans deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, WHAT HAVE WE DONE offers an unflinching look at war and those who volunteer for it: the thrill and pride of service and, too often, the scars of moral injury.
Impeccably researched and deeply personal, WHAT HAVE WE DONE is a compassionate, finely drawn...

Descirption: During the opening four months of the First World War no fewer than 46 soldiers from the British and Commonwealth armies were awarded Britain's highest award for gallantry, the Victoria Cross. In a series of mini-biographies, Gerald Gliddon examines the men and the dramatic events that led to the award of this most coveted of medals. These men were 'ordinary' soldiers from widely differing social backgrounds, who all acted above and beyond the call of duty. Each story is told chronologically and offers a fresh perspective on the opening stages of the 'war to end wars'.

Early Reagan- The Rise to Power
Type : epub |
Size : 7.47 MB |
English |
9781589797444 |

Descirption: First published in 1986 and nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, Early Reagan is still the most in-depth portrayal of the pre-government years of the late president. The book uncovers Reagan's formative years: childhood poverty, film stardom, and his politicization via the Screen Actors Guild. Anne Edwards interviewed more than two hundred people important in the life of Reagan as well as those of his two wives, Jane Wyman and Nancy Davis. The book concludes with Reagan's entry into politics in 1966, when he announced his candidacy for Governor of California in the living room of his hilltop San Onofre home. As the late historian Barbara Tuchman noted, "For anyone who wants to know about the circumstances . . . that formed Ronald Reagan into a political figure, this is the book to read."

Inferno; the Devastation of Hamburg 1943
Type : epub |
Size : 8.53 MB |
English |

Descirption: In July of 1943, British and American bombers launched an attack on the German city of Hamburg that was unlike anything the world had ever seen. For ten days they drenched the city with over 9,000 tons of bombs, with the intention of erasing it entirely from the map. The fires they created were so huge they burned for a month, and were visible for 200 miles. As those who survived emerged from their ruined cellars and air-raid shelters they were confronted with a unique vision of hell: a sea of flame that stretched to the horizon, the burnt-out husks of fire engines that had tried to rescue them, charcoaled corpses and roads that had become flaming rivers of melted tarmac. Using many new first-hand accounts and other material, Keith Lowe gives the human side of an inhuman story, and the result is an epic story of devastation and survival, and a much-needed reminder of the human face of war.

Madness Explained- Psychosis and Human Nature
Type : epub |
Size : 1.52 MB |
English |
9780140275407 |

Descirption: Today most of us accept the consensus that madness is a medical condition: an illness, which can be identified, classified and treated with drugs like any other.
In this ground breaking and controversial work Richard Bentall shatters the myths that surround madness. He sho there is no reassuring dividing line between mental health and mental illness. Severe mental disorders can no longer be reduced to brain chemistry, but must be understood psychologically, as part of normal behaviour andhuman nature.
Bentall argues that we need a radically new way of thinking about psychosis and its treatment. Could it be that it is a fear of madness, rather than the madness itself, that is our problem?

Shirley Temple- American Princess
Type : epub |
Size : 10.95 MB |
English |

Descirption: At the age of five, Shirley Temple became the world's most famous and acclaimed child-the most talented, beautiful child performer ever to capture the public's imagination. By the time she was ten, she had either met or had received words of admiration from almost everyone of distinction. Nine-tenths of the world could recognize her on sight. She single-handedly cheered an entire nation caught in the firm grip of a depression. Her films saved a major studio from bankruptcy. She earned more than the President of the United States and lived in her own junior-sized San Simeon. As lionized, idolized and protected as royalty, Shirley Temple was the one and only American Princess. Shirley Temple is brought into focus in this definitive, intimate portrait of her as a child and as the woman that child became: a woman forced to live her entire life in the shadow of her own past glory. We follow the tumultuous events and disappointments that marked Shirley Temple's meteoric rise...
