Dangerous Charisma by Jerrold M Post
Type : epub |
Size : 567.22 KB |
English |

Descirption: The long-time head of psychological profiling at the CIA puts President Trump under the psychiatric microscope, examining the unique connection between Trump and his base.
Offering an in-depth psychological and political portrait of what makes Donald Trump tick, Dangerous Charisma combines psychoanalysis with an investigation into the personality of the current American president. This narrative not only examines the life and psychology of Donald Trump, but will also provide an analysis of the charismatic psychological tie between Trump and his supporters.
While there are many books on Donald Trump, there has been no rigorous psychological portrait by a psychiatrist who specializes in political personality profiling. As the founding director of the CIA's Center for the Analysis of Personality and Political Behavior, Dr. Post has created profiles of world leaders for the use of American presidents during historic events. As once stated by Jane Mayer of The New Yorker, who characterized Dr. Post as "a pioneer in the field of political personality profiling," "he may be the only psychiatrist who has specialized in the self-esteem problems of both Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein."
In this new book, the psychiatrist who once served under five American presidents applies his expertise to profiling the current resident in the White House, with surprising and revelatory results.

- Robert J. Tucker, author of Politics as Leadership and Stalin in Power, 1928-41 [praise for Jerrold Post]

- James MacGregor Burns, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Roosevelt: Soldier of Freedom [praise for Jerrold Post]
"A persuasive case for giving more attention to what to do when world leaders suffer serious ailments."
- The Economist [praise for Jerrold Post]

- Les Aspin, Secretary of Defense [praise for Jerrold Post]
"Presents numerous fascinating examples of how such diverse leaders as Winston Churchill, the Shah of Iran, Menachem Begin, the recent Soviet gerontocracy, Mao and Deng, and several American presidents have had their ability to lead diminished to the point that they became dangers to their nations. Highly recommended."

Size : 558.8 KB |

Descirption: Women are leading the fight against feminism and women's rights. The question is, why?
From pop icons to working mothers, women are abandoning feminism in unprecedented numbers. Even scarier, they are also leading the charge to send it to its grave. Women head anti-feminist PR campaigns; they support anti-feminist politicians; they're behind more than 70 lauits across North America to silence the victims of campus bang; they participated in Gamergate, the violent, vitriolic anti-women-in-technology movement; and they're on the front lines of the fight to end reproductive rights. Everywhere we turn, there's evidence anti-feminist bombs have exploded, sometimes detonated by the unlikeliest suspects. Between women who say they don't need feminism and women who can't agree on what feminism should be, the challenges of fighting for gender equality have never been greater.
F-Bomb takes readers on a witty, insightful, and deeply fascinating journey...

We Can't Breathe by Jabari Asim

Descirption: Insightful and searing essays that celebrate the vibrancy and strength of black history and culture in America by critically acclaimed writer Jabari Asim
In We Can't Breathe, Jabari Asim disrupts what Toni Morrison has exposed as the "Master Narrative" and replaces it with a story of black survival and persistence through art and community in the face of centuries of racism. In eight wide-ranging and penetrating essays, he explores such topics as the twisted legacy of jokes and falsehoods in black life; the importance of black fathers and community; the significance of black writers and stories; and the beauty and pain of the black body. What emerges is a rich portrait of a community and culture that has resisted, survived, and flourished despite centuries of racism, violence, and trauma. These thought-provoking essays present a different side of American history, one that doesn't depend on a narrative steeped in oppression but rather reveals black voices...

Branding A Very Short Introduction - Robert Jones
Type : epub |
Size : 1.15 MB |
English |

Descirption: Branding is possibly the most powerful commercial and cultural force on the planet. Iconic names such as Coca-Cola, Nike, Manchester United, Harry Potter, and Google are known and recognized by millions of people worldwide. As the market economy spreads across the world, brands are becoming ever more prevalent. The Apple brand has been valued at $98 billion - more than the GDP of Slovakia. Every day, we're exposed to more than 3500 brand messages. And even though people are increasingly brand-aware and brand-sceptical, they are nevertheless seduced by brands. We may reject the whole brand system, but we still wouldn't be parted from our Apple Macs. Brands are impossible to escape. In this Very Short Introduction Robert Jones discusses the rising omnipresence of brands, and analyses how they work their magic. He considers the incredible potency of brands as a commercial, social, and cultural force, and looks at the many different kinds of brands that exist - from products,...

Probiotics also aid in the relief of chronic health issues, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), as well as all kinds of occasional belly discomfort. They have anti-inflammatory properties, too.
