From my point,  I can categorize them only as three types

1. Saravanan - Good

Saravanan: Basically good natured, soft hearted, caring character will not change anytime. He is always wish to be good husband and father. Thinking only about Meera and children. Work hard day and night for their well being. Ready to sacrifice anything to keep them happy. Even after knowing his wife has cheated him, he cried and blamed himself for not keeping her happy and tried to redeem her back. After prabu departure he spent most of the time with family, took meera and children to tour/movie and also sexually tried to satisfy her. He never realized that his wife did not just cheat her, but also fallen in love with his friend deeply. Later, he understood that she is finding it difficult to forget him and their good times together. So, it is not possible for him to do anything but leave everything to fate to decide.

Meera: Basically soft nature house wife from a poor family and missed all happiness of younger days in her home and missed all the happiness of marriage with saravanan. She had hidden all her wishes due to the family situation. After 7 long years, they were able to finally settle down in the town. She still does not get much attention from husband as he is always busy working. She is always yearning for happiness and feeling more lonely. So, She is vulnerable. Every person has a good and bad side. Lust has been the weakness for meera and prabu identified that and turned it on for her. So, Meera became bad. She cheated her husband and never felt really guilty. She was happy that her enjoyment with prabu is not known to her husband. She did that with more enthusiasm and enjoyed all the happiness that she missed with saravanan. She always  had sex in her own bed daily with prabu without any single guilt in mind and slept in the same bed with saravanan. She had all adventures of sex in her own house with prabu. Though they stopped the affair for some time when her husband asked why she is wearing pink jasmine, she still talking to prabu over phone daily. They were waiting till the things get cools down and start their affair again. After prabus departure, though she wants to be a good wife to saravanan, she cannot forget prabu. She knows that she loves prabu deeply. Every time she had sex with saravanan, she will surely think about how she mated with prabu and get disappointed. So, her memories with prabu will fully take over and she will masturbate to bring back those pleasure. Her body is yearning for prabus love. My POV

1- i will never leave but use her fully as an asset (no strings attached affair).... but will never keep her as a liability....... because everyone is greedy/drools for other's assets, not liabilities

Yes. Prabu is the only son for his parents. if his father die, he has to do the last rites for them. But his father has strictly told him not to do the last rites for him.

Prabus mother and town people will not leave that. They will force him to come down to do the last rites. For that, he has to surely return to his home town with his wife and children. Prabu has to tonsure the head and grand children also has to do the last rites for their grand father.

In my earlier post, I have made an attempt to characterize Prabhu.
Let’s see how Meera fares? I repeat my considerations to the following.

My assumptions are:

1.  So far, the story has not deviated from reality and in future will not deviate.
2.  Normally the behaviour of characters is influenced by their motive and self value unless forced upon. There can be temporary short-term discourse from path by the influence of sudden emotional burst.
3.  The basic characteristics of a person do never get a sea change. Apparent changes will reverse with slightest opportunity. A person with crocked mentality will remain so and vice versa.
4. Whenever a character visits oneself in memory, character speaks the truth. After all you can never deceive yourself concisely.

I believe:

1.  I am not moral security officer and have no inclination to dictate which is correct or wrong. Based on circumstantial evidences, I will try to reason the way characters may behave in future.
2.   In no way I am trying or will try to influence author from his judgement about future of this story.


I request readers to add or correct me with reason of course:

Meera

She is beautiful and must have received constant attention from opposite sexes; reason for developing obsessed desire.
Meera has come from orthodox Indian family where the daughters are brainwashed to be a good ideal wife.  Ideal means:
Her body and mind are sole property of husband.
She must extend all sorts of physical pleasure for husband but should never crave for anything which is synonym of bad wife.
Husband’s wish is her wish.
She should not argue and show any dissent at any cost which calls for disrespect to her & family.  etc etc

She had no formal sex education but likely to be ill awarded through her friends. Some vague idea about Cunnilingus, blowjobs etc. No clear idea on sexual anatomy except curiosity. Had not been exposed to male company.
Even after marriage, situation did not improve much. Credit goes to Saravana having similar background and knowledge in addition to his struggle for basic needs. She had no scope to understand or experiment with her sexuality and quench her psychological thirst.

She had developed a strange crave for male company under mixed influence and surrendered to Prabhu easily. Better to say, she wanted to be seduced. And things proceeded. Meera’s behaviour from the first day of her physical relationship with Prabhu clearly indicates, she enjoys being dominated.  If Prabhu introduced light BDSM, she would have enjoyed more.
She could easily shed her inhibitions with Prabhu. The same was not possible with her husband without explicit approval of Saravana. In any secret adultery relationship, both are ready to give 100%. There is only one aim, physical pleasure. No responsibility. Attention is never deviated.  Added with excitement of doing something not correct. The most powerful sex organ is brain. Here brain is already stimulated just by the very thought of adultery. No spouse can match the same performance.

She is of very weak mentality without any determination. As we see again and again her remorse for cheating husband, there were no firm determination from her side to end the relationship. Even her IQ is also below average. In spite of ample evidence, she believed Saravana is in total darkness. She did not give much weightage to the fact that the place is a small town. Her attending to Prabhu in his house during marriage rituals suits for desperate people or low IQ. Same logic applies for abandoned temple incident. Prabhu’s dominance over her is distinct along with her foolishness.  

There is no scope to think otherwise about her love towards Saravana. Even during love making with Prabhu also she tried her best to praise her husband. She does not want her husband to let down in the eyes of others, in her foolish way of justification. Family values, tradition etc are mixed in her blood which can never be uprooted completely. It constantly remind her…..  
Even also during intense sexual pleasure with Prabhu, her love for husband, family, society, self-respect hunts her constantly. She is mentally splitted into two. She is ready to enjoy variety of sexual pleasure in secrecy but not at the cost of her family.
Because of above, combined with fear to get humiliation, Meera will never desert her husband for sexual favour. What others will say? Is a dominating factor for Meera to take any decision. If she happens to meet Prabhu, she will try to find answer to her only tormenting quest:- What made Prabhu disappear suddenly without informing her? She will never think to elope with him. She enjoys variety of wild sex but she is not desperate.
Most intense happy and sad incidents are stored in a special place in our brain. Very strong-minded persons are only able to control their emotions and thoughts. It is not expected for weak minded Meera to control her thoughts and emotions. Getting immersed into memories and craving for committing same are distinctly different. 

(In my personal life, I have two children. Even after so many years of marriage, I still cherish my first kiss and fondling to my girlfriend in college days. It is so vivid as if happened in recent past. The sex I enjoyed with her is no match with my wife. It was different, may be in my imagination only. I don’t know where she is now. Given the option and chance, I may not refrain myself from pleasuring her again. But I will never leave my wife. Fortunately, my wife has no clue about it.)

She is so weak minded and lacks determination, she can never commit suicide unless attempted by instant impulse.  It all depends on how, when and where she is enlightened with the truth. Any time lapse or presence of others will negate the chance.

You need a lot of courage and some planning to commit suicide ---  Meera lacks both. We will examine different possibilities of how, when and where in a different post. Prior to this we need to understand character Saravana.

Even if she leaves house for any purpose, a little persuasion is required to change her mind. Without support of Saravana, she could have placed herself in some brothel by this time.

In my opinion, Meera is a simple, average intelligent, beautiful woman immensely attached with family with strong emotions and desirous to be dominated. She has strong libido for sex but lacks knowledge to encapsulate it in her favour

My thoughts.

Agree that Meera is not desperate. She would have thought that one and only affair in her life should be with Prabu. So she did not go with other men. There are more chances this separation would have made her yearn for prabu and will make her decide to go with him. As you rightly said, she is looking for the answer for her question on why prabu disappeared suddenly without informing. If prabu meet her again, he will say that it was forced marriage and he cannot do anything. To convince her more, he may also tell her that he does not love his wife and always had thought about her all these days. By doing so, he can restart the affair very easily. Meera will believe whatever prabu say.  

Apart from thinking about prabu during the day time when her husband is in shop, She is also thinking in the night about prabu and fingering when her husband is sleeping beside. It shows how much she yearns for him and how much she miss the pleasures given by him. Prabu had already made her bold and she did two things that other women of her cadre will never do, like that making love in old house when relatives and husband nearby and made love in abandoned temple very late in the evening which is not safe at all. How bold she has become to do in that small town. It shows she is ready to do anything for prabu.  He has already made her his sex toy and he can also easily convince her to elope with him deserting saravanan and children.

When we look at the newspapers with stories on Adultery, we find housewife's eloping with their lovers even after 10 years of marriage. No matter they are traditional or not or how many children they have. It is the decision that they take at that point in time. Who is important for them. Lust will overcome love and that is why they elope. Once they decide that their lover is important than husband, there is no stoppage for them. They will go to any extent. Here, author has already told that women does not give their body alone, they give their heart too. Here, she has already fallen in love with prabu. That is the reason she is not even trying to forget him. So it does not need more reason for her to move with him when he ask her.

It is too early to predict on how she is going to behave or act when prabu comes back. We also need to know that he too has a family and if Meera has to desert her family, prabu must also do the same. It depends on how much they need each other. Waiting to see the further updates. if author can bring in prabus reminiscence, it will throw more light here on what he has in his mind.

I have made a small attempt of characterization of the main characters. It is my way of rational thinking. In due course, story will give us all our answers.

I can only say, if Prabhu meets Meera and claims his love, things will not be straight forward. Meera wanted to be seduced and enjoyed domination. In revised scenario of new truth, she may not behave as you explained. Also story never supported Meera was interested in eloping with Prabhu leaving behind husband and children.

As regard to newspaper news, we have come across stories where lovers killed husband / wife. Character's motive are different. Everything can't be weighed on same scale.

Mind blowing Sex is not last word in human life. There are people who indulge in "Rap_e". There are people who sacrifice their life to stop "Rap_e".

If you accept correctness in characterization, think positively and rationally in line with. If you differ in correctness, make necessary correction logically in line with the story.

Saravana:

At the age of 19 years, losing all property and father Saravana had to move to other city along with mother for livelihood. Education was not completed. He never surrendered to obstacles and fought relentlessly to concur life. It is not an easy journey. There must have been ups and downs. Only patience, diligence and sheer determination made him prosper in life. In his own words:-

““My inherent character to battle against life’s obstacles became stronger. . Life which had been an enemy to me all this while became my friend.””

He has learnt to lead life optimistically in positive frame of mind and achieved results.
At very young age of 23, Meera shared her life with him and made him proud father.

“”Meera was my lieutenant in the war helping me face all the battles.””

She alone was his inspiration and emotional attachment as his mother passed away. In the process of struggle to life, wife naturally gets less attention. fulfilment of higher needs arises only after satisfaction of basic needs. Children occupies a special place in the heart of father and more so when it is a girl child. As Saravana’s free time reduced with added responsibility, inevitably emotional quotient reduced towards Meera. Sex life was bound to be curtailed. Variety and experimentation will be a luxury. In all probability, Saravana was equally ignorant. The vigour and attention a wife receives immediate post marriage diminishes with time. Saravana was not exception.

Except reduced time sharing and well justified natural degradation of attention, Saravana’s world was revolving around Meera and welfare of family was his one of top most interest. He has self belief and strong determination. He has seen many ups and downs. He believes some day Meera will come out of her illusion and lust. He has confidence in Meera. Their life will be back to normal. This is his character. Always optimistic.

Accordingly, he made plan to keep them separated. Things took ugly turn with discovery of the truth by Prabhu’s father. Out of sheer love, affection and rare quality of forgiveness, he became rescuer again. But failed to contain the damage absolutely. Prabhu was forced to leave country by his father after marrying his cousin with a promise not to be seen again.

But Saravana is Saravana. He does not want to be a cause of other’s pain. In a rare sign of forgiveness, absorbing all pains within self, he consoled remorseful Prabhu. He tries to find his own short comings than blaming others.
