Artists used this to produce huge bmovie content, exploitation films and mainstream pornography(though i dont accept the term mainstream). Even India to some extent produced some really good adult/exploitation b or c movie content-anyone who lived during that era can share their views and experiences, i am from last decade of 20th century. What happened to this industry? also what happened to then prevelant non visual forms of erotic entertainment like magazines, novels? Telugus can share their view on this issue. Because i ve heard stories of really good telugu erotic adult entertainment literature. True, telugu reading is going down at rocket speed but is there any thing we can do? And also would like to know whether your religious views effect your sexual entertainment life and also sexual life? Also please share your views on desifying erotica instead of videsifying erotica.
As a teenager from 90s, I remember colorful soft porn magazines like debonair and fantasy. In 1998-99 you can fine nude models spread on them. Most models were Western but they also had some good Indian model. It was an Indian version of Playboy. They also contained good quality erotica.
In college, it was a done deal that before and after exams such magazines were in great demand (to relax).
Then two things happened roughly around the same time - first thing was that some people decided that such magazines are threat to society. So many magazines shut their shops while some like debonair remodeled them to become more of a femina/Vogue type magazine.
Second thing was the internet. Soft porn of those magazines was no match to hardcore stuff available at the click of a button.
I think same fate happened with b-grade movies also. People have the option of watching real sex on internet.
