When the morning came she was too tired to wake up. She heard the calling bell and thought it must be Ajit at the door, but she was too tired to get up. She heard the front door open, it should be Vineeth opening the door for Ajit. By the time she gathered herself up, Ajit was already entering the bedroom door with a broad smile and a parcel in his hand.
“Good morning sweetheart; how was your journey?”
“Good morning babe, the trip was cool. See what I’ve got for you!”
She sat up and opened the package. It was a nice thin soft sleeveless top with flowery embroidery work. It looked fantastic and the linen was thin and almost transparent.
“Wow, it looks nice, thank you” she opened her arms wide to hug him.
He jumped on the bed and hugged her tight.
“Gentle… I am not feeling well” whined Sona. He loosened his hug and smooch her gently. Sona noticed an unusual enthusiasm in his behavior. “So there is some good news… what is it?” enquired Sona.
“Well, as an appreciation for my success during this trip, boss offered me quick all paid holiday to Rajmachi”
“Oh yea that is nice.”
“We can take Vineeth also” winked Ajit
“I don’t know if Vineeth would want to come, as he may have plans with his new girl…” Sona giggled
“That’s no problem, we can take her also along if she wants to join in”
“My boss’s holiday bungalow is all for us to use. So the number is never really an issue”
“Cool then, it would be nice to have a break from the routine”
Her tiredness vanished with the warmth of Ajit’s hug and the good news about the holiday trip. Ajit informed Vineeth about his holiday plan and asked him to check with his new girl friend. Vineeth was all blushing as they were discussing about a holiday with his girl friend especially to a hill resort.
The day started rather fast and it was uneventful through the regular office work for Sona. When she reached home back that evening, Vineeth was already home.
He was all ready for his evening workout with his tight shorts and bare chest. Sona excused as she can’t take part in the exercise due to her period. Vineeth had a few doubts about menses period but never dared asking anyone. Sona was willing to explain the process and the pain every woman goes through. Vineeth was very appreciative of her answer and his respect for women grew in general. But he had another taunting question about their sex during the previous week. When Ajit came home they all sat at the dinner table to make exhaustive plan for their holiday trip. Ajit had decided to take a larger SUV borrowed from a colleague. Vineeth called to Kavi and asked her about her availability for this trip. Listening to the idea about hanging out with Vineeth and Sona excited Kavi. She said she was looking forward to meet Sona’s husband as he had grown to be a hero in her mind. “Of course a man who respects women’s freedom deserves to be a hero” Kavi thought to herself. But she needed to take permissions from her parents.
Next couple of days Ajit and Vineeth put in lot of time to organize their trip and planned out everything for the trip. A day before their trip, Sona got a frantic call from Kavi. Sona was surprised to hear Kavi’s sad sounding voice. Sona encouraged her to spell out the issue. Kavi let her steam out about her parents wanting to send another companion along with her to keep her from being naughty. It was Puvi her younger cousin. Sona listened carefully and comforted her. Kavi looked at her cousin coming along as an obstacle where Sona felt it can be turned on to their advantage. Sona gave a pretty positive outlook about the whole situation and it took a while till she was convinced that Puvi could be an added advantage to their fun and escapade. Kavi was happy that Sona could turn all her pain and negative emotions to such positive one. She told how much she loves to be with Sona and family. Sona slightly teased her about Vineeth. She could feel the cupid’s arrows flying around the mobile call just at the mention of Vineeth to her.
Ajit was ok with one more addition to the vacation; after all, more people could mean more fun. But Vineeth was little skeptical about Puvi coming in between him and Kavi. Sona gave him the same tonic she gave to Kavi, encouraging him to see the positive side to it.
Soon the day arrived it was five hours travel on Friday to reach the bungalow through a few hairpin bends to this short mountain range. So that they could have both Saturday and Sunday fully spent and they could leave early hours of Monday to return to the city.
