You almost presented the plot. 

Considering the love from university days , getting sustained through the preparation phase and finally getting married is not a small thing.  If they always value that , there won't be bigger achievement than that.  And you are saying it remains same.

But, currently the long chats are making him miserable,  i can understand for his attitude....if she reveals her plans, he always worries.  So she's keeping it for herself without hurting her relationship. 

Going through the wolves without getting hurt is really a herculean task, as there's a chance to get caught at atleast one point.  Looking forward to see the way beauty with brains play her cards.

As in  politics equations keep changing fast , give frequent updates at your comfort to make the readers connected.
