Remove ratings system

I am seeing a trend that many famous english stories especially in english forums keep getting rated as 1 star.....and I had to add 5 stars to make average as 3 stars.....This is not the first time I saw this......it happened plenty of times. I think someone purposefully rating stuff as 1 star. I might have added 5 stars to like 50 threads till now which are most famous on xossip but got 1 star on xossipy.....

I searched online and many in mybb forums discussion website say that ratings are obsolete and nobody using the rating system anymore now....also what's the point of seeing troll negative ratings for good threads?? Also many stories are given either 4 or 5 stars.....I also searched other famous forums which use mybb......nobody is using rating system anymore......

This made me feel like rating system is totally pointless......because it is causing harm than good.

yes, this needs to be considered.
it might be better to add likes system instead of thread ratings ..
